The manipulator usually sits a few cents below market with a large bid/bids.They do not necessarily pick up stock.As a small player puts in a bid they drop their bid in behind.Have a look at IBA and see a few hundred thousand bids spread over a couple of cents a few cents below market.As the price moves up the manipulators move up but still keep a few cents off market price.To do this you need a fair bit of money behind you which institutions have.I suspect allco is behind this.
