Whatever you allow it to focus on (good or bad) it will magnify.
If you allow your mind to focus on the negative aspects of the Bali Confernce and the negative aspects of climate change, the thoughts and views you share with us will inevitably be as gloomy and negative as your last post.
ALSO if you allow your mind to dwell on the recent Liberal defeat, you will ooze self-pity from every pore and orifice.
And you are not alone in nurturing that energy- sapping character defect.
The whole Liberal Party is looking so woe-begotten and miserable that despite a lack of courage to get rid of the power-hungry cause of their electoral bad repute (John Howard) I could not help feeling sorry for the poor old Liberal Party.
So to buck the Libs up here is a picture of another leader by the name of Nelson.
Horatio Nelson was also a small and unimpressive man - but he was a brilliant and courageous tactician and was always able to surprise his enemies by audacious tactics.
At the battle of the Nile in 1798 his daring and courage completely overwhelmed the French when he sailed his ships between the shore and the French Fleet. The French guns that faced the shore were not ready for action, as it was believed that Nelson could not possibly attack from that position!
In 1801 Nelson destroyed the Danish Navy at the battle of Copenhagen.
During the battle he was sent a signal to break off action by the Admiral Sir Hyde Parker.
Nelson put his telescope to his blind eye and said to his Flag Lieutenant :
"You know Foley I have only one eye. I have a right to be blind sometimes. I really do not see the signal."
I have no film clips about Horatio Nelson (to buck up the poor, old Libs) but I do have a clip from 'Horatio Hornblower':
