Bloodwynch
There many of us beg to disagree.
I think history is the best way to predict the future.
Whether it be politics or social development or markets, there is nothing new under the sun.
Patterns repeat, market action repeats, social problems repeat.
Those unaware of history think that current events are unique but the gods laugh at us ants as we once again scurry to rebuild a damaged nest.
Read Banjo Patterson, as a journalist not poet and you will be amazed at the military and aboriginal and tax and political issues of his day that you could just add 100 years to and read today.
Read the history of money and markets and nothing has changed.
Read the history of rulers and the corruption of those in power and nothing has changed.
Why should it? There are precious few that are willing to learn from the past, and basic human instincts are sadly no better.
