Assuming that the person you were talking to was the person they claimed to be and assuming the information he gave you was information not generally known to the market, then yes it would be insider trading if you act on the information to either buy or sell shares in the company.
I find it hard to believe though that a publicly listed company director/executive would so freely discuss price-sensitive information with a complete stranger on a plane.
