agree with you about dredging up a criminal past from 26 years ago but you would have to admit a shady criminal past for extortion which was serious enough for jail time then a shady corporate record and now the CEO of a publicly listed company that is suspended due to disclosure and financial reporting issues does not paint a positive picture fro the company going forward.
Markets don't like supporting such CEO's so won't be good for SHers if he stays on.
