I hold Zinifex, and think it's a good story

However, the market consensus from the big boys is quite mixed (2 strong buys, 2 strong sells, lots in the middle).

Until Zinifex replace the smelter earnings with another revenue source, they will be valued on pure mining revenue from their existing sources. The consensus of the analysts on Comsec suggests earnings of around $1.20 per share for 2007/8, and less for the year after.

They would be unlikely to pay $1.40 when they earn $1.20
