Very much agree with you. In these volatile times, it is better to admit fear than to hide it and fool oneself. Fear is what makes us not taking things for granted. Whoever buys with pessimism? I for one approach it this way through experiences. I’ve been expecting this this volatility for sometime but not predicting the outcome. My portfolio have been quite bare. It was diversified until last month when I also got sucked into profit taking. My previous stock exposure recovered and continue giving but I wasn’t tempted to buy back fearing volatility 2.0. Just too many news event in one week I suspect.

Now I wait to see what the market thinks of this SPP. I’m expecting some defence of SP or else if price falls below SPP means punters prefer to let it go and buy on market. If we keep getting those overnight 700 points drop on the DOW, nothing beats cash holdings with the option to buy rather than being trapped!
