This brings up an important point of shareholder treatment. I don't know the laws well but even if these hedge funds held 51% then there must still be laws preventing them forcing a company to act in a way that ignore the interests of the minor shareholders.
I'm not sure what my opinion is on this deal.
To me it seems like the right thing to do but the discount to NTA should be in line with the average discount to NTA of the past year. Or at least a discount to the after tax NTA.
