In my experience an understanding of the FA can be useful - I mostly only trade companies I have researched. But usually I'm mostly only interested in a) how much hype (lots=FOMO=good for DT) and b) how much cash they have so I don't get caught in a CR pump. Otherwise the chart is king.
Where a company will be in the future is completely irrelevant IMO; comments belong in the threads.
