Update: Since about 5pm (AWST) today the rig and MM have been stopped having met up with the Maersk Mariner. All three remain stationary so probably doing some sort of re-supply or whatever.

In the past 48 hrs however, the Rig and MM have travelled 254 nm to where they are at present at an average speed of 5.29kn. They now have only 748 nm to go to target. Once they start moving again we should be able to tell whether the Maersks are going to do a twin tow or a tag team changeover. Either way, at 5kn it would take 6more days plus a few hours but hopefully they will be able to travel in excess of that speed particularly when they get nearer the coast and pick up the southerly winds which should give them a bit of a leg up.
