I own a few Novo share from those days when it traded around 70 cents a share. From what I recall Newmont gained the initial stake before 2017 from 2 private shareholders. About mid year in 2017, I believe they had a pre-arranged deal to sell a big portion at the set price of 1.60. Soon after, they looked dumb because NOVO rocketed up past 5 dollars but they were already committed.
As I recall, there was no explanation on why they wanted out of the play/shares. At the time it looked like a great pre sale price at 1.60 because I don't think the stock was anywhere near 1.60 when they struck the share sale. I think they got played and are back for round 2.
No holds barred this time, I figure. Pretty sure I have the general story right here but not positive with dates etc.
