Amortisation does not relate to Goodwill, its usually Customer Relationships which comprised $8.6m of Total Intangibles of $40.5m at 30/6/18. As the amortisation of these Customer relationships is an accounting requirement, it doesn't reflect an underlying loss in asset value, or the cash flow position. Cash Flow is a good indication of the financial health of a company ,both present and future.

VRS is different to technology companies where amortisation is usually related to capitalised software development, which can be subject toa rapid decline in the value and the income generated from that software.
