Thank you supergwailoh! I found exactly what I was looking for in one of the images provided (I assume by BUD) on the Connect Event thread.
It shows exactly what I have been claiming: the (red) active wire runs from the bottom of the circuit breaker with the blue clamp in contact with it and the attached black cable (to the blue CT clamp) then runs back and connects into the Buddy device. The device is even mounted within the electrical switchboard or distribution board!
So at a brownfield industrial site the switchboard would have to be shut down by a qualified electrician. Meaning all circuits at that switch board would need to be isolated or made dead which means production processes would be directly effected.
Good luck to that! Like I stated previously: The process is king and all else is its inferior servant.
