Phones and their batteries are rarely recycled, the contents and lithium contained within are often landfill.
With short life span and new phones on the market each year- every phone on the planet (in some form) will be replaced many times over in the next generation alone. That in itself is a huge user of battery materials, now let’s ad EVs, home storage, buses, trains, aircraft, ships and grid storage .... the need for Lithium and battery materials is exponential over the next 30 years minimum IMO.
