It's just like saying if you're with say XX Bank, They have double the rates of XXX Bank.
It's your responsibility to sign up to XXX Bank for the other benefits... If you don't well then sucked in and keep paying more for the same service

I've never used Twitter until i got into AVZ/4CE. I hardly open it but there's a thing called Push Notifications where you can get notified by people you want to hear from so you don't even have to open the app every hour.
