I cant say I believe the "price capping" scenario, but can tell you that on Thurs there was a dow jones newswire article that referred to an analyst saying that Sally Malay was the favourite to win the tender for one of the Kambalda nickel assets up for sale by WMC. the price starting rising straight after that.

cant say I support the analyst as WMC will be pretty ruthless about getting the highest price so how an analyst would know what people are going to bid beats me. As far as I am aware the bid process has not even closed. Its a bit of a beat up.

construction of the sally malay project has some way to go so other than nickel price and exploration results SMY is going to take a breather now and then.

however if they do win the bid referred to, it could get exciting for the SMY price.....
