25 cents seems to be the current base rate for commentators, yet FAR languishes at eight. I struggle to recall a stock with such sound fundamentals - 123m ‘proved up’ barrels of oil plus astonishing upside potential - and yet such an enormous disconnect between analyst valuations and market price. Generally when the market is out of whack to a significant degree, the situation gets resolved through M&A activity. FAR is surely no different and it would come as no surprise if someone had a crack at it. The current situation is certainly circumstantial evidence to suggest someone is manipulating the SP to set up a low-ball bid to look generous.

Interesting that Hardman gets dredged up again. I guess it is the textbook example that everything comes to those who wait - and often does so in a rush. Speaking of which ...

Like many here, I have effectively had ‘dead’ money tied up in FAR for more than three years now. Meanwhile other stocks in which I invested more recently have appreciated by 50-110% (thank you, Wasa). With that in mind, I thought I’d revisit a couple of investments I made concurrently with FAR and which shared with similarities to FAR - great fundamentals backed by solid management - to see how they were going. One was Nearmap (NEA); the other NextDoc (NXT). In those three years, NEA has more than doubled; NXT trebled.

I sold both more than two years ago for small losses.

I will not make that mistake here. Buffett, Buffett, Buffett. And not Jimmy.
