But how does it affect the actual SP on the asx? Isn’t shorting just CFD’s ie you never actually own the stock I.e. kind of like Sportsbet where you are just betting on an outcome.
I guess the shorters can down ramp and spread fear so that actual holders of the stock panic and sell to help them achieve the desired outcome. Kind of like match fixing?
