This is the official media release by TPG regarding ACCC's Measuring Broadband Australia program.

Although it's nice to see that TPG on top, I'm not too fussed about TPG winning this period's race. I believe it's only a matter of time before Telstra, Optus or others become the fastest provider in this measurement program.
What intrigued me was the comment made by Craig Levy, TPG COO, in the media release. This is an excerpt from the the release:
TPG's Chief Operating Officer, Craig Levy, said "These results are a testament to our network assets that connect to the 121 NBN Points of Interconnect nationwide, our fibre and transmission backhaul and our Australian and International Internet capacity. Our talented engineering team has enabled us to build what may be the most advanced fixed network infrastructure in the country."
That is quite a bold comment to make, considering that TLS & Optus are much bigger companies with much bigger capex budget.
As a TPG shareholder, if that comment has substance behind it, then it's quite reassuring to know that our fixed network infrastructure is the most advanced in the country, since in the future, fibre network is the crucial ingredient in the success of TPG's mobile project.
