Sentry - you may be gaining some solace from believing that any unfavourable historical data must be associated with shorting but don't blind yourself. I've never shorted any stock but that doesn't prevent me from seeing the historical accounts about the Dobsina veins being 'worked out' and 'depleted'. You are betting that these accounts are wrong - and they may be - but you ignore the odds at your peril.
