checkout my earlier posts. sugar has bounced about 25% from its lows the last few months. CSR share price is often correlated to such movements despite the fact it is not a pure sugar play. many analysts upgrading sugar price forecasts. the fundamentals for sugar price look very promising. also read AFR today, much written about plenty of consolidation in the indusrty to occur. sugar price almost halved the last couple years, many players probably quitting the business as becoming uneconomical and supply side of the equation to be questionable over the next couple of years. however no doubt demand will increase with increasing population, asians growing income leading to westernise their diet a little more, not to mention the ethanol factor. wheat, corn and soybeans got all the love in 07, now sugar to star in 08, that's just how it works sometimes. good luck and buy some sugar futures if you can, more of a pure sugar play but having said that, some nice gains should be in store for CSR too. oh and yesterdays building materials data did not hurt either.
