I have also noticed the same thing and agree it indicates very strong March performance and that’s why the buyback was paused and Justin started piling in right at month end. I am amazed Justin is buying shares as recently as today (5 April) when he is the only one in possession of the performance numbers for March and knows they are due to be released in the next couple of days by his firm! In other words, he is trading on material non-public information (i.e. inside information) if it turns out the fund really did have a stellar March and the price moves materially when this information is released. Obviously we don’t know for sure just yet but will have the answer in the next few days. Let’s hope Justin hasn’t been trading on inside information for his own financial gain and once again shafting us ordinary shareholders who have already undergone so much pain by holding this poisoned chalice.

It’s terrible to see Justin is looking after his own financial interests by buying shares ahead of the release of material non-public information while still charging us ordinary shareholders management fees for losing our money for the last 12 months. Guess we’ll know within a few days, but if I’m right this is the final straw and I will be contacting ASIC about this. A fund manager of all people should know what is legal and what is not! I’m not going to let him get away with making money dishonestly while the rest of us suffer in silence.

Please do let me know if I’m overreacting about this as I’m always open to hearing the views of my fellow HotCopper members.
