what is happening here, page-23

I first read it in a magazine when I was in the waiting room at a doctor's surgery a few years back.

I kid you not.. it haunted me as being so profound that I actually went back to the surgery, found the magazine, sat in the waiting room and copied the quotation out (without having an appointment, I might add).

I've now turned it into a fridge magnet by making a copy with CorelDraw, laminating it and gluing a magnet to the reverse side. I've given a few to my friends who have commented on it as well.
