Pilbara Ports Authority, Utah Point Multi-User Facility Bulk Handling Facility
Background
Pilbara Ports Authority (PPA), holds a licence issued under Part V of the Environmental Protection Act 1986 (EP Act) by the Department of Environment Regulation (DER) for the Utah Point Multi-User Facility Bulk Handling Facility.
On 17 March 2017, PPA submitted a Licence Amendment Application to DER for the Part V licence (L8937/2015/1).
The application seeks to:

- increase the Category 58 – bulking material loading or unloading production capacity from 21.35 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) to 24.10 Mtpa; and
- include Spodumene ore as an approved bulk material with a permitted export volume of up to 3 Mtpa.
