Wack, can't De Grey use hand tools to expose areas of conglomerates and use metal detectors to see if any exposed layers have nuggets without obtaining heritage approval? I guess the digging limit would be a 1 meter cube but that should be enough to give an idea on the spacing of nuggets. They could also pan for fine gold. I'm surprised this hasn't been done and reported on.
