JP Getty & Rockefeller (amongst others) made their fortunes buying when the herds were panicking & selling !!
Rockefeller made his fortune as an owner and a canny businessman not as a trader, he was very late to get into stocks and was ever apprehensive about it. every time the stock's price rose an eighth he bought every time it dropped an eighth he sold.
his fortune was from toil and right place right time!
