Possibly you have not been involved with immigration applications . Imigrants mainly follow family members , the fact is Australia is an extremely sort after location , for many the USA would not be on the Radar screen if the houses were free , and for many Its the Usa or nothing .

Let me assure you of one thing however , if we doubled the number we allowed in , we could still double it again and fill every spot , Australian immigration is NOT going to decrease , and we certainly wont loose a vast number to the USA , not a number that would bring joy on the Downside ..Thats for Sure!
