This is truly excellent news. What everyone needs to consider that the value is not in what the by products can be sold for... it's the advertising.

We live in a world increasingly dominated by sustainability, which is a good thing. Outotec are famous for designing for sustainability - it's their key selling point. With LPD they have stumbled on a gold mine; where every thing the shovel touches is gold.
Outotec get excited when they can do something as basic as reducing plant water usage, so they must be beyond wetting themselves that they can produce a plant that produces high quality lithium from waste, and turns the waste products of the waste into usable products. This will be their holy crown. This global company will advertise this wherever they can. They will talk about this at conferences, they will highlight it on their website, they will make you tube videos on it. They will apply for awards for it. Yes I'm sure they will take the credit for their involvement but they can't take all the credit without mentioning the fairy platypus which is behind it all.
Remember, this plant won't just be producing some additional by products; this is giving us millions of dollars of advertising across the world.
