Rubbish! Money is being lost probably moreso than leaving the market. If houses are leveraged to fund reckless stock choices then there is your subprime ... Smart money is looking for assets that are safehaven in troubled times and that does not include overinflated houses. Gold and silver (on sheep following historic stores of wealth), commodities themselves and agricultural land.
