One doesn't need to pick tops/bottoms in day trading, wait for mkt to come to you. There'll be many (usually) opportunities during the coarse of the day.... patience grasshopper. If you have studied many many charts you will get to reconise various patterns..ie. creeping trend (over lapping) strong trend ( space between high/low) 3 thrust pattern etc.
