Hi
@barry1990
Thanks for the reminder of the announcement back on the 26 March 2018. I haven't been paying close attention to FLC over the last few months and consider it a bottom draw stock for the time being.
I apologise in advance, if my comments have already been dealt with previously, so please ignore if you feel I am wasting your time.
However, if any of you can, it would be very much appreciated, if you just point me to the posts that answer my queries.
In any case, now having time to look at the ASX announcement in more detail, along side the media release posted again today, as a reminder, I have some observations, and wonder if anyone can provide some answers or thoughts?
Neither the ASX announcement, or the media release you supplied, mention how many more units have been contracted? The initial amount being six, in November, and the addition could be any number, so not really helpful or meaningful at all?
Whilst the ASX announcement does not mention the specific number of population in Guizhou province, the media article does, which is circa 35 million, which can be seen to be a tad misleading.
However, the ASX announcement and media article specifically say the contract is with Zhenfeng county which is clearly only part of Guizhou province.
Looking further, and from what I can gather from this site on China population for the Guizhou province broken down by counties in the province:
https://www.citypopulation.de/php/china-guizhou-admin.php
(Note: If the link doesn't work I have a PDF of the data if required)
I am guessing the county we have the contract with is the last on the list, and happy to be corrected, as there are quite a few provinces with obviously not the english spelling we know, but I am possibly close?
This indicates the population estimate at the end of 2016 to be 387,200, which is equivalent to maybe one council area, in a metropolitan city, or possibly a couple of regional hub towns, in Australia?
I also noted that there were also quite a few counties in the Guizhou province, all of varying sizes, and we are only part of one, and apparently not a real large one at that. So this small presence is supposed to influence the rest of China?
Stranger things have happened I guess.
I would also add that the comment both in the ASX announcement and the media release is probably correct, that is:
'When completed, this Fluence C-MABR project will be part of the largest rural wastewater project in Zhenfeng county, Guizhou province, China.'
Probably because it is the only project in the county?
Another thing to think about, is how many MABR units are needed for this size population? Maybe 8? I am being facetious here, and have no idea, however, it is a real question, as I am no real expert on the technical side.
Yes I realise this is just the beginning, however, on the scale of things in China, probably hardly worth a mention given the size of the county being serviced, but I guess it was to keep shareholders happy?
Seems it worked briefly I guess, as SP rose, and has since fallen, as not really a substantial announcement on any real progress in China, if indeed any progress in the overall scheme of China.
Obviously, as someone stated, it may take a great deal of time in China, as it seems to me Fluence have a very long way to go, if they get there at all, even with all the rhetoric.
Yes Fluence isn't just China, but that is what the share price was built on, and I can see why no real market interest to date, as nothing really substantial has happened in China yet, and there are only small bits and pieces elsewhere so far.
Additionally, only $8m of contracts delivered in the first quarter for our market cap, clearly shows we have a long way to go to satisfy the market. A lot of promise, which is yet to be delivered. So will see.
Just my odd thoughts as usual.
cheers
