"exclusive.....in Germany" is the key phrase. This German network of hospitals wouldn't compete with hospitals in Texas or Ohio, so exclusivity beyond its borders is irrelevant.

What is really exciting is that the hospital environment in Germany isn't full of loud entitled overly expressive people who want to share their every thought and who must talk over the top of the blare of the opiate of the masses (ubiquitous TV screens with CNN or FOX 24/7).

According to a study done by researchers at the University of Chicago, hospital noise levels at night, on average, sit between 50 and 80 decibels– about as loud as your average chainsaw................Some of the sources of noise aren’t directly connected to medical care, but are inextricable parts of the environment anyway. Entertainment systems, particularly televisions, are common features in patient rooms, an expected part of the hospital landscape, and a major contributor to the cacophony.

The idea that TV's are 'inextricable' is telling. So an app that initially required less background noise (I believe they have now tweaked it to cope with the US hospital environment) will probably do better in Australia or Germany where healthcare professionals are given a bit of headspace to think and make clinical decisions and inform patients without distraction and allow the patients to give their full attention to allow informed consent.

Starting the whole international trial in Germany would have been preferable: now that they are, I'm happier with my holding.
