Thanks for your concern and I do try to take care of what has been loaned and entrusted to me.

Don't be too uptight about John's use of hyperbole to gee up the troops and incentivise them against the heretics that were waiting to ensnare those early converts.
The wise Teachers that develop religions almost always employ the carrot and the stick .. knowing that time is limited and people in general prefer to put off until tomorrow what isn't a direct threat today.

If you ponder or even just think about it, what is the likelihood that an all powerful, benevolent, supremely loving Creator of the Universe would condemn for eternity those humans who for whatever reason, sincerely could not accept your version of the Christian party line ... and all based on one fleeting human lifetime ?
