Its a big ship like Telstra and hard to turn around, I sold for AMP on commission a long time back and most sold to their pockets then ,with prompting from unit managers , things havent changed.
As a shareholder of AMP I crystallized my loss around the $18.00 mark , then again at $14.00 then finally at $4.60 recently, just like Telstra I got out far too late, it tought me one thing, never fall in love with a stock.
Now I concentrate on selling call options ,particularly in the money ones , I get paid if it goes up, get paid if it stays still and get paid if it drops a bit.
[ A not a great bit though, I generally set the strike at about 8 to 10 percent below initial buy in price ] after thats a loss but a bit of management can do wonders.
