OoO, I think that is an extraordinarily negative post for a man of your pom-pom credentials. Several plausible explanations have been posited for the spike including an interesting one concerning Erin’s filing for chapter 11 bankruptcy this week. (Discussed in another thread.)
We already have whisky to keep the dampeners on, reminding us that nothing happens till it happens and even then it’s usually too little too late.
