What is article does not talk about is potential volume of production per unit and where it will be deployed? Is it in Lithium brines or could be spots with high lithium content in underground water?
But this gives a feel like shale oil / shale gas ( unconventional sources ) in oil and gas industry.
We know for long that cost of battery is the main bottleneck for EV, Solar Storage, Gris stabilisation etc. If battery production is debottlenecked, demand will be robust for a long time. In that scenario, it will be a cost curve play. It will be interesting how these unconventional plays work in that environment and what impact it has on the conventional miners.
