"Geomet has already put more than a decade of effort into exploring the Cínovec deposit and is looking to complete preparatory work and obtain approvals in accordance with the Czech legal order. After obtaining the necessary permits for extraction and processing of ores, the Czech company Geomet will be the only one authorized to exploit the deposit under the terms of the final permit, "said Geomet Richard Pavlik, the head of Geomet.

He recalled that Geomet is the holder of four exploration licenses and two preliminary permits to determine the mining area, so he has a preferential right to possible extraction. Now, according to Pavlík, the company finishes the technical documentation with the documentation for the study of the environmental impact and the groundwork for the territorial and construction management, in order to obtain the permit. Part of the documentation for the mining part of the project will include refinement drilling and semi-operational metallurgical tests.

DIAMO subsequently supplemented its statement by stating that "increased state involvement (participation) could now be based on an agreement with EMH - Geomet".
