It was in the mid to late eighties when the Victorian government put up the contribution rates for the DBP scheme to move some out of the scheme ,at that time term deposit rates were around 10 % to 12% and my home loan was near 17% so people did the sums based on the rates at the time and many went to the lump sum scheme.
