unwired - competitor to swt, page-18

    Grant62,

I am responding to you late in the day. I was caught at a client site installing a WAN reduction device that handles contention and accelerates TCP applications. (How’s that for techo?)

Personally, every post I have read of yours I have revered, as it is factual and without emotional ties. I am new to this game and have been cautious; so far in front.

Over the last month I have spent a lot of time researching unwired and their wireless technology. This technology is being provided by navini. (www.navini.com) Personally, I would love to see wireless technology succeed but there are so many stumbling blocks to over come: speed; security; line of sight; redundancy and technology succession.

If I were Telstra, I would be spending billions running fibre to every home. They have the last mile covered now and will do so in the future if they do this. BUT, is this financially viable??? Probably not, this is why DSL is such a solid alternative. You can get the speed and service to nearly every household. With this you can deliver VOIP (Voice calls), PayTV and Internet. Give me another technology that delivers all three disciplines???

I hold a fair amount of SWT. The market has not responded to this company yet because the market as a whole does not understand the capabilities in DSL technology. (A4nd the company is NEW)

Why would you invest in a company that is selling:
Cable: Old school; needs to be replaced by fibre. The telcos and not installing cable anymore, as it does not represent an ROI.
Satellite: Limited services… how can you do VOIP, PayTV and internet? The markets that do require satellite are minimal.
Dial up: why bother, technology succession.
Fibre: you pay for it and I will use it.

I rest my case. The technology is clear and simple. Financial boys help me get across the line.

    Cheers…
