Gosh well I've been holding GSL for close to ten years now.
There was a lot of hype back then around renewables, windfarms, geothermal. Almost all of those big names around then have gone bust.
Met the Tullochs back around 2010. Watched an investment company destroy the shareprice with financial tactics a while back there too (some gang from New York if I can remember correctly). Seen one too many investor presentations promising a pilot line to commercialisation within a couple of year time frame. Then watched it move from DSC to Solid State to pereskovite and spent half a decade in the doldrums. I actually thought we were there with the Shotton continuous line in 2012/13ish (Dates fuzzy, its been so long...)
Actually lost most of my initial investment on this one so far. Participated in many years of SPP but couldn't personally justify putting a dollar more in after the 2013 move to solid state after watching it move from $1 to a few cents in the years of holding. But still holding in 2018 hahaha. I guess I genuinely think this is a worthwhile company to support. In it for the story now. Hope they get there.
To be honest, I don't even pay attention to the science breakthroughs any more. They were making significant breakthroughs every couple of months a decade ago too. And we lauded them for it, posting glowing threads about how it was about to take off because of efficiency XYZ. Didn't do anything for shareholder value. My last post looks like it was in 2013. Back then, and years before it too, there were still over excited posters/users thinking this stock is gods gift. I was one of them.
I've been burned so hard on this one, but I hold it like its my bad behaving child that I still love lol.
Markjohn, you still around old mate?
