You say 'he' but he is only one member of the board and bound by board agreement. He is also the one who you see in front of the cameras as it were. Unless you were privy to board discussions you have no idea what his position was in discussions before the recommendation to accept MB's offer was decided. Clearly you and others need to think a bit more about the professional ethics of board membership and any role it might have played. Fact is, we just don't know. A directorship is a bit like membership of a cabinet or shadow ministry. Yes, there is a politics to it. And, yes, I don't like it either.
