Not sure how this plays out at our end of the market.
As climate change and dirty fuel become more of an issue many coal mines around the world are closing and not being replaced. Funding being the problem with big banks and other lenders creating policies against coal investment.
However, demand is not falling yet. The big miners still in the game are raking it in.
Anglo American, which not long ago wanted to unload its coal assets, has seen income from the business triple since 2015 to become the mining company’s most profitable commodity. BHP Billiton said its coal earnings surged sixfold.
