Not sure if Aurora will be going hard after Cann now that they are halted in Canada and in talks w LEAF about a 3 billion dollar acquisition/takeover. #badidea
I had doubts about Canopy buying AC8 before Spectrum was established Down Under. Now, even more so. If Canopy has proven adept at anything, it's growing very rapidly thru JV, partnership, & conversion (greenhouses) while keeping dilution at a minimum. Canopy only has ~ 210 million sh outstanding whereas Aurora is pushing 500 million sh outstanding. In BC, ( I know you Aussie's know where that is!) Canopy recently converted a 1.3 mil sq ft greenhouse to an ACMPR compliant & licensed "weed house" in just under 6 months. For context, the "usual" wait time for an ACMPR license in Canada is 1-2 years.
I don't see much advantage to buying AC8 for Canopy. The only thing I can think of that would have significant value to Canopy would be the relationship that AC8 has w Taz Alk. It is a great strategic partnership, but one could make a case that there are other larger, more significant potential Pharma partners that Canopy could get into bed with..
My 2 cents... BH
