    No, beeptool does not need SAS. Instead, beeptool need potential customers to have internet connection regardless where it comes from. The same internet connection that the same potential customers will need to pay for to the telco. So telcos would need to see providing connections to those people as profitable to begin with. If they see the venture as loss making then they would not even bother and thus SAS will get no money and there will be no internet connection to those people regardless whether the constellation is up or not. There is a reason why satellite comm. is expensive.

    Knowing that the question is, what is that 6million dollar payment for? Funding for SAS? Obviously not. Payment for connection? That is not for beeptool to do and instead the cost is born by the people. So what is the payment for? Donation? Makes absolute no logical sense. SAS is a mobile tower services in space and whatsapp does not pay mobile towers neither will/should beeptool.

    Whatsapp is different to beeptool? How so? If we exclude the redundant money transfer gimmick then how are the apps different?
