I suppose that should have been discussed early on and an understanding reached. If she was back packing you and her must have been quite young ? That’s where good advice comes in handy. But yes when multi cultural marriages happen it brings a set of issues you don’t get with same culture. It can be an issue even inter city, let alone inter country. Philippine marriages seem to be the flavour of the day in here and they are good example of different problems arising, such as a responsibility to support family back home. That could easily become a problem if it’s not worked out beforehand.
