    Treggs

    I am totally puzzled at what you've got there as it doesn't equate to my charts (which I can't post at the moment because photobucket has stopped my account because I've exceeded their 25G bandwidth allocation.)

    SPI 200 has three data sets for each trading day:

    * YAP_CCB which is the "day session" (09:50am - 04:30pm)
    * YAP3_CCB which is the "night session" (05:10pm - 07:00am), and
    * YAP2_CCB which is the "combined" day and night sessions and the one you want to chart in most cases.

    The night session is the most thinly traded and often more volatile - at first I thought that was what you were posting. Long-legged doji's are very common in the night session. For 25th the Night Session volume was 3,699 contracts whereas the Day Session was 33,839 contracts. Can I suggest you check your OHLC data for the 25th against what I've got to see if they match:

    Day Session: 5640 / 5889 / 5620 / 5885
    Night Session: 5546 / 5625 / 5472 / 5619
    Combined: 5546 / 5889 / 5472 / 5885

    You will see from the above that the 'trading day' for the combined SPI200 for 25/01/08 is:

    * first the Night Session from 05:10pm on the 24th all night until 07:00am on 25th, and
    * then the Day Session from 09:50am on 25th to close at 04:30pm on 25th.

    The day's data is then published at 07:00pm that night.

    So what you have there is a mystery Treggs.

    Email me at [email protected] if you want me to send you the daily charts for the three SPI's, alternatively I'll post them tomorrow once I resurrect my old bigpond small business web site (friggin photobucket cheapskates!!)

    And finally - yep the trade is lookin good but not complacent by any means!

    Regards

    - HBG
