People in Perth keep on talking about a pipe from Perth to Broome, but I fear its a pipe dream during their life.
If each water company could charge each other for water and construction, then I would support it. Its too big for government out west.
The easiest first step for government would be going along the East coast of Australia.
After Sydney and Melbourne, keep going to Cairns tmas they have large tropical rainfalls up North.
Perhaps even a bit of flood mitigation by temporarily lowering dams during the flood season by moving water south and north again if needed.
Then you could go west from Melbourne around to Adelaide and then Kalgoorlie linking it to Perth.
Darwin and Perth might finally be viable after that.
