Well firstly the mining hasn’t commenced so the land is still in tact and the flora and fauna have had limited disruption.. so before it starts and the land gets destroyed it makes sense to push for an alternative before that happens. The company also has a product that’s generating revenue and I’m hoping they see the outlay or potential capital raising to get mine of the ground can be outweighed by further investment in hemp opportunities.

Sometimes the smaller companies setting the example can have the biggest impact. Firstly The electric car industry is growing and countries have mass adoption for this. I don’t know if it’s a coincidence but I’ve noticed a lot of petrol stations are getting knocked down and apartments are getting built. Perhaps electric car industry along with Sky rocketing realestate prices is one of the reasons. Mass adoption of electric cars should also reduce the need for petroleum.

As for Galaxy resources they’ve taken an 12% investment in a company called Lepidico (LPD) and these guys have a patent processing plant called Lmax which aim to use lithium mica (basically the waste) to
Make high grade lithium at a low cost that uses less energy. While it may still have an impact on the environment and I’d hardly call myself an expert about it the idea of using the waste to make lithium batteries which will ultimately long term be the main source to power our cars, laptops, tablets, phones....already is. How good though if they can reuse all the stored waste! It’s a step forward! Still have more to learn but I like what they are doing. If they can reduce or remove the waste and then regenerate the land then that’s great.

Anyway we have solar power, wind and hydro so why the need for coal still! This bs about clean coal!!!

We can recycle metals over and over and make different products why the need to continuously extract bauxite.

We gone from having a mass image problem with hemp and cannabis to having a huge 360 about face to now embrace what these products can do.. let’s keep pushing for that!

Anyway this was a great article. They are using hemp to clean up Chernobyl and other radioactive sites.. also talks a little bit about what happens with the plant and what it can be used for after absorbing toxic waste.

Just imagine for a second a mining site that could be rehabilitated using hemp.. that hemp then gets used to make biofuel that is then used to fuel the machinery at other sites. One of the issues with using hemp as a fuel is its ability to generate high profits. However if people considered using crops to clean up mining site and other toxic sites this hemp which people would not eat could be used for industrial purposes and fuel.. at the very least to run the machinery... 20% reduction in pollution from fuel being put into the air right there.

Anyway here’s a pretty great study on hemp biofuel and it’s challenges if you’re interested!!

    Bit of a spiel!
