This was the very next line to that statement
We can recycle metals over and over and make different products why the need to continuously extract bauxite.
So it was actually aimed at bauxite and not steel but the same applies to steel. And it’s not about removing every single mine although that would be the bees knees it’s about pushing for alternatives that are more sustainable and better for the environment. As petrol run cars get phased out due to the rise of the electric vehicle perhaps we will have so much opportunity to recycle steel with those.
Also about giving people options.
As for saying clean coal is BS ..
Burning coal without adding to global carbon dioxide levels is a major technological challenge which is being addressed. The most promising 'clean coal' technology involves using the coal to make hydrogen from water, then burying the resultant carbon dioxide by-product and burning the hydrogen.
By this I mean it’s bs because we are just burying it.. still has waste.
All I’m saying is more sustainable processes and ways to protect the environment..
If Henry for could make his car from 60% hemp and fueled by a product that is 20% less pollutant than current fuels perhaps we should be pushing for this..
As for land there’s a tonne of toxic sites that need cleaning up.. can hemp be the mop crops for these and can these plant that no one can eat then be turned into bio fuel?
