Quite a  lot of Anncmts pertaining to new EV batteries factories:
    1)  LG Chem ( COB"S tech partner) is opening a new  $ 1.6B  factory in Hungary in 2018, the biggest in Europe.
Also in same article it is stated there are 20 lithium-ion battery megafactories in the pipeline to 2021, with the vast majority in China.
    https://investingnews.com/daily/resource-investing/energy-investing/lithium-investing/lg-chem-lithium-ion-battery-factory-europe/

    2) LG Chem again has formed two joint ventures (JVs) with Huayou Cobalt in China for stable supplies of cobalt for making electric batteries.

The JVs will help produce enough electric batteries to power 400,000 high-performance electric vehicles.Operations will begin 2020 and each will produce 40,000 tons annually. This will be expanded to 100,000 tons a year once demand rises ( My take is COB would fit in this second phase) https://www.zdnet.com/article/lg-chem-forms-joint-ventures-in-china-for-ev-battery-production/   11 April 2018
3 ) Samsung SDI opened a factory in Sept 2017 for the production of batteries in Hungary for Euros 300 Millions.
    4) China’s pipeline of new battery plants( 130,4GWh) is about triple the rest of the world ( 42.4GWh), https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2018-02-01/the-breakneck-rise-of-china-s-colossus-of-electric-car-batteries Feb 1st2018

Interesting times indeed  and all these factories will need Cobalt .
